What does the world of storytelling bring you? It brings me a new perspective, excitement, joy, comfort, happiness, and to know that even if I can't travel all over the world I can still adventure through the pages.
Tell us about what you do for a living and what is your home life like? Mostly I am a stay at home mom of 3 kids which means I am a taxi and maid most of the time. Other times I am a substitute teachers aid for special needs classes.
Do you write? I don't. Just trying to answer these questions took me forever and a lot of using the backspace!
Do you blog or review? I review with Nerd Girl and on my own. I try to blog but aside from hosting tours I find writing so difficult that I don't blog as much as I'd like.
What are your passions in life? My family of course first and foremost. I volunteer at school to help children who need extra support in reading. I can usually be found spending lunch and other free time at the school library. I love our librarian!
Do you judge a book by it's cover. I do. It's not the only factor but a good cover really draws my attention and then the blurb decides it.
At what point do you decide that the read is unbearable to continue and you abandon the book. I have only ever put one book down and knew I would never go back to it. It was just too dark and violent. Some books that are really slow in the beginning tempt me but I can't stand not finishing a book regardless of editing or poor writing.
If you were living your ultimate dream life what would you be doing right now? Ultimate dream life? Well, all the amazing authors I have met would be living up here in Alaska so we could get together for breakfast at Alyeska in front of a roaring fire looking out at the snow covered mountains. Everyday!
What were you like as a teenager? Struggling until I joined the Army when I was 17. Best decision I ever made.
Your favorite movies? Jaws, The Blind Side, Pitch Black
Song crush at the moment? I listen to (heaven forbid I was about to say oldies) 90's and the Hairbands but currently I've got the Pitch Perfect soundtrack on permanent replay. Lol.
Series addiction right now? On TV, Castle. I binged the whole series in a few weeks before this new season started. Love Nathan Fillion!
If you were elected world president what would be the first law you would enforce. School, every person would go to school in every country. I would have schools built out in remote areas or ensure tutors could move to those areas. College would not only be free but mandatory for at least a vocational or trade school. Everyone needs to learn a skill in order to be a productive member of the earth. If security was needed to ensure girls were given the same opportunities then it would be required for the governments to provide it. With severe sanctions for any country that failed to educate their people no matter the reason.
What elements would the perfect book house? Action is the most important. I also love complex characters, unexpected surprises, follow standard tropes but without being predictable. I know that sounds contradictory but I've seen it done.
Favorite fruit. Pomegranate, even if it meant I'd be stuck in the Underworld, its delicious!
What is the deciding factor for you when choosing your next read? My mood really. If I need to get out of my regular genre favorites then I'll try to choose something completely different. Or if I need emotion versus action, I'll look for recommendations from friends pages.
Are you a creative person? I wish but sadly I'm not.
What is your craziest moment? Oh wow, I've had quite a few. My best friend and I were stationed in Colorado Springs and on a whim we decided to follow a group of male strippers up to another gig in a different city. Let's just say we were young, single, and didn't have a care in the world! Definitely one crazy weekend escapade!
