WHAT WOULD BE YOUR THEME SONG:
Will Be Me by Melissa Etheridge
Why this song means so much to you?
because even though it's probably meant to be a love song, it fits my personality since I always support and encourage my family, friends and anyone else to reach for their dreams and that anything is possible, all they have to do is try.
BEST MOVIE FOR 2016
"Deadpool! I had to watch it twice, lol. Once to watch all the action and again to catch all the humor, even if somewhat crude at times."
One book that changed your life.
The Hobbit. I read it as a young child and even though I already loved reading ever since I can remember it solidified that love and turned it into a passion.

Where did your love for reading start? I've always loved reading as a kid. But it was renewed when my husband bought me a Forgotten Realms book before he deployed. I've been reading non stop since then.
What does the world of storytelling bring you? It brings me a new perspective, excitement, joy, comfort, happiness, and to know that even if I can't travel all over the world I can still adventure through the pages.
Tell us about what you do for a living and what is your home life like? Mostly I am a stay at home mom of 3 kids which means I am a taxi and maid most of the time. Other times I am a substitute teachers aid for special needs classes.
Do you write? I don't. Just trying to answer these questions took me forever and a lot of using the backspace!
Do you blog or review? I review with Nerd Girl and on my own. I try to blog but aside from hosting tours I find writing so difficult that I don't blog as much as I'd like.
What are your passions in life? My family of course first and foremost. I volunteer at school to help children who need extra support in reading. I can usually be found spending lunch and other free time at the school library. I love our librarian!
Do you judge a book by it's cover. I do. It's not the only factor but a good cover really draws my attention and then the blurb decides it.
At what point do you decide that the read is unbearable to continue and you abandon the book. I have only ever put one book down and knew I would never go back to it. It was just too dark and violent. Some books that are really slow in the beginning tempt me but I can't stand not finishing a book regardless of editing or poor writing.
If you were living your ultimate dream life what would you be doing right now? Ultimate dream life? Well, all the amazing authors I have met would be living up here in Alaska so we could get together for breakfast at Alyeska in front of a roaring fire looking out at the snow covered mountains. Everyday!
What were you like as a teenager? Struggling until I joined the Army when I was 17. Best decision I ever made.
Your favorite movies? Jaws, The Blind Side, Pitch Black
Song crush at the moment? I listen to (heaven forbid I was about to say oldies) 90's and the Hairbands but currently I've got the Pitch Perfect soundtrack on permanent replay. Lol.
Series addiction right now? On TV, Castle. I binged the whole series in a few weeks before this new season started. Love Nathan Fillion!
If you were elected world president what would be the first law you would enforce. School, every person would go to school in every country. I would have schools built out in remote areas or ensure tutors could move to those areas. College would not only be free but mandatory for at least a vocational or trade school. Everyone needs to learn a skill in order to be a productive member of the earth. If security was needed to ensure girls were given the same opportunities then it would be required for the governments to provide it. With severe sanctions for any country that failed to educate their people no matter the reason.
What elements would the perfect book house? Action is the most important. I also love complex characters, unexpected surprises, follow standard tropes but without being predictable. I know that sounds contradictory but I've seen it done.
Favorite fruit. Pomegranate, even if it meant I'd be stuck in the Underworld, its delicious!
What is the deciding factor for you when choosing your next read? My mood really. If I need to get out of my regular genre favorites then I'll try to choose something completely different. Or if I need emotion versus action, I'll look for recommendations from friends pages.
Are you a creative person? I wish but sadly I'm not.
What is your craziest moment? Oh wow, I've had quite a few. My best friend and I were stationed in Colorado Springs and on a whim we decided to follow a group of male strippers up to another gig in a different city. Let's just say we were young, single, and didn't have a care in the world! Definitely one crazy weekend escapade!

To me my streeteam is my tribe, who become friends and family who believe not only in books but writing and have graciously become those who support my career and will often spread the love around social media. Without a street team I would be lost, because sometimes the doubt creeps up and I hesitate on every single piece of writing I am working on - my street team is also my anchor who are there when those doubts get too much and they remind me why I love what I do and why I should be proud of where I have come.
THis month my street team member I have met twice at UtopYAcon when I travel from South Africa to meet up with yet another book lovers and writers support group. I have been fortunate enough to meet Nanette and loved every part of being with her!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
*Where did your love for reading start?
My mother has been a librarian since I was a baby, so I was introduced to books immediately and have always loved reading. When I was old enough to read myself, you could never find me without my nose in a book.
*What does the world of storytelling bring you?
Stories take me out of this world and into their world. There is nothing better than getting lost in a good story.
*Tell us about what you do for a living and what is your home life like?
Well I am disabled with severe chronic back, leg and feet pain. I am a single mom to a 12 year old boy named Tommy, and a 14 year old girl named Kayla. Kayla is living with her dad right now, and Tommy and I are living with my grandma who is 93 years old. I help take care of her to the best of my ability.
*Do you write?
Yes I am a writer and I have a book of poetry out called A Heart’s Journey Through Poetry available at Amazon.com http://www.amazon.com/Hearts-Journey-Through-Poetry-ebook/dp/B00IFAZUES/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&sr=1-1&qid=1402150222
*Do you blog or review?
Yes I am a blogger and a book reviewer. I am on several review teams here on Facebook and my review list is massive, lol. I have several blogs that I have neglected lately, but trying to get back to them.
*What are your passions in life?
My passion is being the best mother I can be to my children. Next would be I have a very strong passion for reading and writing. I also love to encourage people. I am in a Facebook group where we write letters/notes of encouragement to single mothers in Uganda. I just love it.
*Do you judge a book by it's cover.
*At what point do you decide that the read is unbearable to continue and you abandon the book.
If I am continuing to fall asleep while reading then that’s a good sign that I’m not going to finish it. However there are very books that I don’t finish, especially being a reviewer.
*If you were living your ultimate dream life what would you be doing right now?
I would love to be able to be a preschool teacher and a professional writer. Those are my dreams. I was a preschool teacher right out of college. But it made my back and legs bad by bending up and down so much. Now my body is just a mess.
*What were you like as a teenager?
I was the good one, lol. Sometimes I went out with my friends on the weekends, but mostly I wanted to stay home and read. I am still that way to this day.
*Your favorite movies?
The Fast and The Furious movies, The Transformer movies, Titanic, Country Strong, The Notebook…anything by Nicholas Sparks books that has been turned into a movie. There are many others but can only think of these for now.
*Song crush at the moment?
Wow this is a toughie as I listen to so many different types of music. I guess it would be Florida Georgia Line with Nelly singing Cruise. My favorite singer of all time is Bon Jovi!
*Series addiction right now?
Jr Ward…The Black Dagger Brotherhood. OMG!
*If you were elected world president what would be the first law you would enforce.
Help the poor, it’s just so sad to see all the poor around the world.
*What elements would the perfect book house?
A book shelf in every room of course!
*Share a Selfie with us?
*What is the deciding factor for you when choosing your next read?
Right now it’s whatever someone sends me for a review, but if it was up to me…I look at reviews and blurbs. If I know the author I will usually buy their books and put it on my TBR list.
*Are you a creative person?
I don’t think I’m creative, however I make my own bookmarks with my poems on them so…..
*What is your craziest moment?
Skinny dipping…um many times lol
*are you on pinterest, instagram, twitter?
Where to find Shannan Lee Williams on the web:
Thank you Shannan Lee for your support, I'd like to know what books of mine you have not read yet?
I have bought every one of your books on kindle, however I haven’t read any of them. I am swamped by review books that people send to me, but I will read them in the near future (that’s my goal anyway)
